The Pillar Fund
Our Priestly Orders have seen significant expansion in recent times. As a result our current rented headquarters have become inadequate. In 2012 our then Grand High Priest, the late M. Ill. Kt. Pt. Ernest Peter Donnison, GHP Award, had the foresight to launch the Pillar Fund, with the intention of raising sufficient funds to purchase more suitable premises to use as our Headquarters. It was hoped that these new premises would be acquired and in use in time for our Centenary in 2024 and that remains the target.
The Pillar Fund is currently sitting at around £550,000 which, while a fantastic achievement in itself, is still short of the total sum required to facilitate the acquisition of suitable premises in York.
Donations to the Pillar fund are requested from both Tabernacles and individual Knight Priests. I strongly urge you to consider supporting the Fund through either a one-off donation or regular payments by standing order. A standing order mandate can be downloaded here. There is no minimum amount for donations and every penny received will go towards securing the best possible future for our Order.
To recognise and reward the generosity of members in contributing to the Pillar Fund, Grand College have created specific levels of achievement, which are detailed below.
A certificate acknowledging the level of contribution will be sent to each Knight Priest concerned at their home address. A specially designed lapel pin will be awarded upon qualifying as a Green contributor. When a Tabernacle attains the first level of contribution, a collarette and jewel for that level will be issued, which is to be worn by the High Priest and passed on to his successor. On subsequently reaching a higher level, a different coloured collarette will be issued.
I thank you in advance for your generosity.
